Great Lakes Loons win SFMA Mowing Patterns Contest
Jeff Ross, head groundskeeper at Great Lakes Loons, is the winner of this year’s SFMA Mowing Patterns Contest with his “Fan Appreciation Pattern.” Ross credited his assistant groundskeepers, Ryan Wolter and TJ Fairchild, for helping with the design. “The pattern was mowed with our John Deere 2500B triplex mower in the outfield and a John Deere 260B walk behind greens mower on the infield,” said Ross. “The ‘Fan Appreciation Pattern’ was a poll on our team’s social media where I...

Remembering Hunter Industries’ Steve Hoveln
Hunter Industries announced that Steve Hoveln, a long-time Hunter Industries team member and respected figure in the green industry, passed away on November 21, 2024, at the age of 65. Hoveln joined the green industry in 1978 at age 19, working for an Arizona landscape company before moving to Colorado two years later to work for CPS Distributors. MSU Board of Trustees approves resolution for Spartan Stadium renovations
The Michigan State Board of Trustees approved a resolution that will provide necessary upgrades and modernize Spartan Stadium in the short and long term. In 2025, the stadium’s three video boards will be replaced.
